Not too much to report after this weekend's Monkees convention.  Micky announced the potential for an upcoming live CD/DVD of one of his late 2012 solo shows at B.B. Kings in New York City.  Peter recently had arthroscopic surgery on his knee but is recovering nicely. The convention's organizer, Charles Rosenay, told Examiner.com that the three day event in honor of Davy Jones was a great success.

Hey, hey, Monkees convention was huge success, organizer says

They’ll love him forever

Here's Micky and Peter (backed by longtime members of the Monkees touring band: Rich Dart, Dave Alexander, Johnny J. Blair, Aviva Maloney...but I can't make out who is playing guitar next to Blair) performing a rocking version of "Steppin' Stone" as well as "Pleasant Valley Sunday" at the convention.

Monkees convention
Don't forget, next month marks the first Monkees covention in some time, and one in honor of Davy Jones.  Check out the previous blog posts or visit the convention's website here.

I added the two tribute videos that were screened during the 2012 Monkees concerts to the 2012 Tour page.

Be sure to check out this archived podcast from Monkees historian and archivist Andrew Sandoval that was completed after Davy's passing.  It's a great show and a very interesting listen (and also includes some great alternate mixes..."Time and Time Again" and "French Song" being two of them).

Listen to more of Andrew's "Come to the Sunshine" podcasts here and here.  You can find them on Facebook, too.  Highly recommended!

Speaking of Andrew, he has authored a new book about the Bee Gees, The Day-By-Day Story 1945-1972.  If you are a fan, check this link for more information.
