I am currently looking for ads, reviews, promotional items and anything else related to the Instant Replay album.  I'm also attempting some research on the inspiration for the album cover and how it was created.  If you can assist in any of these things or more, please contact me by clicking here.

If you care to spread the word, please click on the title of this blog post and share the URL on your Facebook page, Tumblr, etc.  You can also tweet this post or 'like it' on Facebook below.

Hopefully all of this will be the subject of a future blog post here on the Live Almanac website.

Thank you in advance!

This ad was submitted to the Live Almanac, and after checking with JD at Monkee45s.net, he thinks it could be from Record World magazine (but both of us aren't 100% sure), circa late February to March 1969.  It also appeared in the packaging of the Instant Replay deluxe edition.

From today through Sunday, you can purchase the Instant Replay deluxe edition set for 20% off at Rhino Handmade.  Click the picture below to visit their website.

I was sort of frustrated when the deluxe edition didn't arrive in yesterday's mail.  It would have been nice to have had the rest of the weekend to go through it.  Anyone else STILL waiting?

There has been no news recently from Friday Music on a release date for the Pool It! deluxe edition.  Still waiting for more info on that one...

Here's a new interview with Davy.  He talks about the end of the 2011 tour and mentions that he recorded many of the shows on the tour.  Check it out here

Check it out here and here.

Here's a YouTube video featuring a clip from the Australian television series The Hit Scene.  Host Dick Williams briefly reviews Instant Replay on June 21, 1969.

Don't forget to check out today's earlier blog post below with The Monkees on The Hy Lit Show.

From Rhino's Monkees Facebook page, posted yesterday (11/21/2011):

Hi, all - just to address any concerns, there was a possible delay in shipping INSTANT REPLAY (DELUXE EDITION) on the original date of 11/22, so the site shipping date was changed to reflect this. However, we're happy to report there is no delay and this will in fact begin shipping tomorrow!

Just to clarify yesterday's blog post, I am assuming that the reason for the one week delay for the Instant Replay box could be due to the fact that Andrew Sandoval acquired superior masters for some of the 33 1/3 tracks, but again, it's just speculation based on his post on Facebook.  Still no official email from Rhino to those who pre-ordered the set announcing a delay.

Today's Instant Replay-themed update features both sides of the picture sleeve for the only single released from the album, "Teardrop City"/"A Man Without a Dream."  Also, courtesy of this page, a rare ad for the "Teardrop City" single from Record Trade Magazine.  (Thanks to JDistheone over at the SH Forums for the "Teardrop City" picture sleeve scans.)

Finally, the last picture is courtesy of Rhino's Monkees Facebook page and features the inside cover of the upcoming Instant Replay box set (which was also the cover of the 1969 tour book).

Though I haven't received an official email from Rhino, the ordering page for the deluxe set has changed its release date from 11/22/2011 to 11/29/2011.  So, it appears we'll have to wait an extra week for the set.  This is most likely due to new and improved audio sources being found by producer Andrew Sandoval for tracks from the TV special 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee.  Sandoval noted the following this weekend on his Facebook page:

"I was able to access a new source for the audio of the 33 1/3 special at the  last moment which was an improvement. However, due to time and space issues (every disc of this set is maxed out) only so much could be restored, recovered and replayed."

Perhaps space issues is the reason why "I'm a Believer" and "Listen to the Band" from 33 1/3 aren't being included on this Instant Replay set.   Hopefully we'll hear the other upgraded
33 1/3 audio on a future box set.

Don't forget to check yesterday's blog post for a picture of what's inside the Instant Replay deluxe edition.  It looks great!

In the meantime, here's another Instant Replay picture to hold you over (courtesy of Ed over at the SH Forums).  The original Colgems cassette!
